I've always thought of .net as #2 but it does make sense. Many organizations use .org, so perhaps, there is a small boost given to the .org tld.

dont know why, when i create a web, i always prefer .com and it makes my site easier to remember by the visitors.

I would say .com domains are the best for SEO
