Yes I agree, I will never recommend Globat to anyone.
Currently I use namecheap, they are reliable and their control panel is reasonably easy to use, and I can keep funds in my account for quick purchases.
I've tried GoDaddy and despise them, I also don't trust Google Apps for domain registration, they use one of two registrars, in my cae GoDaddy, but I never had full control over the domain because GoDaddy seemed to only offer a subset of their normal control panel which has been defined by Google to make the domain work with gmail/apps.
In the past I've also used misk.com and found them to be exceptional, but I moved away from them because they don't offer privacy settings on domains and if you want full control over domain records (A, MX etc) you have to pay extra.
Some sad news for me.
I had a domain that I got for free for one year at Register.com. It was on auto renew. I was planning on letting it drop. However, yesterday I got billed $43.95 canadian dollars ($35 USD) through Paypal because it was on auto renew. I just hate that. I could have got a domain for like $8
Uhh, that's bad man. However you learned a lesson, you won't put domains on Auto-Renew![]()
Yes. After this I went to all my domains and took off auto-renew. I usually don't forget to renew, so its okay.![]()
I keep domains on auto renew using a dead credit card.
This way, even if they don't send me reminder notices, they sure as hell will send me a notice about the payment not being accepted, which I just count as my reminder notice.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
