I was thinking if people out here owned their names?

I do not own my name as a domain.

"coreyfreeman.com" is taken (a blank white page! WTF?) but corey-freeman.com is mine. I hope to own the one without a hyphen eventually.

Nope, no sense in registering my name, unless I become a celebrity someday. Nevertheless, domain name of my name would have been taken a long time ago.

I don't really see why you'd have to be a celebrity to own your own domain name. You can use it for personal branding, a personal website, etc.

I have to agree with that. Owning your just name is kewl, you can mainly use it as your portfolio or just as a contact page.

I would have bought it for my blog but relocated it to mixedmatt.com anyway.
