Just received email from godaddy, with this head title " IMPORTANT NOTICE: On July 1, 2010, Verisign will increase prices for .COM and .NET domains.
Beat the increase. Renew now for multiple years and save BIG!† "

yea I second your assumption. there could be a decrease in domain sales and thus they're making all these announcements to earn more!

They've been announcing the pending rate increase for a while now. Can't remember if Bob Parsons had it on his blog first or if it was somewhere on the GoDaddy website that I saw it a few months ago.
