Thread: Error with Domain Registration at NameCheap

I received the following error after trying to registrar a domain with namecheap.

[FAILED]
Reason(if available):An unknown error occurred - 198367874

The domain name was available and after getting the error message the domain showed that it was taken. But the whois is showing me as the registrant?

I wondering what the issue is as the payment was refunded after getting the error message?

I just received the following message:

We would like to inform you that the domain has been registered by you. It was a bug in our system that it was not added to your namecheap account. Everything is fixed now.
We apologize for such inconveniences.

Free domain? Nice score. Or did they ask ya to repay 'em?

The took the funds from my account balance that I have with them.

I registered the site from within my namecheap account.

Namecheap from time to time has bugs. But the customer service responds quickly.
