Thread: The future of domains?

  1. #11
I remember there being tallks of .xxx domains for 18+ content but I don't see anything manufacture out of those rumours. In time, they will have to expand the TLD options but at a reasonable price, otherwise I feel another .com bubble burst coming.

I agree with DomainMarvelous. .com will get more expensive in the future IMO because of the demand of the domains.

I'm sure a lot of new extensions will be made, like .sex and .web, maybe .you too It is possible to buy your own extension for a half million if I'm correct, don't know if it's still possible though.

But nobody knows where this is going to end, so we'll have to wait and see!

I think .web would actually be a great extension. .**** would be good as well, for decluttering the ridiculous amount of good domain names soiled by ****.

I think the future of domains should envolve enforcing extension requirements (.com for commercial, .net for networks, .org for non-profits, etc.) because that is probably where most of the unavailability is coming from. Then again, you will run into a shortage.

It's a hard concept to think about, haha.

Looks like P_O_R_N isn't allowed on this board Ow what you say could be a problem for people having tinyurl sites..

It would be funny, that their 2 character domain MUST become: http://ly.short

Rofl but once again I understand what you say, and there is a point in what you say -- I don't see it happen though

Most people who get good names.. just sit on them..do nothing..and when time comes for renewal..they just let them expire.
Also, a lot of ppl forget to renew their domains.
I dont think there will be any shortage anytime soon.
As long as people are creative they will always think up something that is available.
