Keep in mind that a few thousand domains have been reserved already, so the best will be taken again already

I think it was about time for that decision because .xxx will help protect children from porn. In my opinion it would be good to ban the porn from all other TLDs...

It will be easier for filters indeed to just block all .xxx domains. One thing ICANN mentioned though was that they are adding this extension. They don't want current porn domain holders to replace their domain by an .xxx tld

That's exactly what I meant On the other hand it would be quite hard to monitor the porn websites on other TLDs and it would be also hard to make big porn brands dump their well known .com domains...

And exactly, but if you're a network administrator and got good filtering software, just censoring the big names and all domains that contain 'porn', 'sex' and 'fuck' will block a lot already

Yeah, but there are millions of small sites on other TLDs and it is impossible to find and ban all of them...

True, some good filters are very up-to-date though, but with the amount of porn sites created daily it's an impossible job to block all

'Criminals' are always a step ahead of 'cops' It is also true with all kinds of spam(you block one way and spammers invents new one) etc...

If you pick up that one, you will be able to retire on the sale of the domain. I could speculate that there will be a minimum of thousands of people trying to grab that domain.
