How to Sell a Domain Name - with Adam Dicker
Hi,
40,000 domain names OMG!!! Looks like the main key is to be able to have the money and sit on it and wait.
Nice video Loko :)
Thanks
Sami
This is a great interview, thanks for posting! It got me thinking, especially when Adam says he lists 4-letter dot com domain names that don't make sense for $4000.
Also, I had an enquiry to buy one of my other domains yesterday. And I was given a 3 letter dot net domain a few years back (just had to pay the reg. fee).
The tip to list your unwanted domains for $100 (I just leave them in limbo) was a slap on the back of the head for me too.
Another surprising quote from Adam: "if a domain makes $5 a year it's a keeper".
I really need to get my act together with domains, maybe other people too?
It is surprising how many domains that are actually available to register!
And I am talking about decent to great domains....
Yet people will haunt auctions and sales to get a domain.
I tell all to do a search of domains prior to ever purchasing one from a seller.
Like yesterday, looking for a domain, I found about 20 darn good ones!
When I am thinking to make a new website I always do a lot of searching for an unregistered domain and I never get that many good candidates with say 3 words. Please share your tips :)Quote:

Here's what I've learned:
If you have a good keyword rich domain name, you can contact the site owners who are ranking on 2nd and 3rd page of the search results and tell them about the domain name--and that it's for sale. Also, websites who are listed in the AdWords ads are good targets, as well.
Yes, I think these are potential moneymakers. Last week, I just started negotiations for a LLLL.com with an insurance company with the same acronym, they were interested. I grabbed this name for $100 and quoted the company lower $xxxx. They were interested but suddenly stopped communicating. I gave them a phone call but then informed me that they are going to change company name.
