For sale: A million-dollar iPad address

A search on eBay last Sunday for domain names with "iPad" in them turned up more than 300 listings, some with asking prices as high as $21 million. (See here.)

Tyler says he's had "a lot of interest," more than a dozen offers — "but nothing in the price range I would like to get" — and a few warnings that he might face trademark problems. (A lawyer has advised him that because he registered the names a year ago, he should be in the clear.)

iPadDotCom.COM for $4,444,000.00 must be a typo.

Interesting to see how this will work out with possible trademarks infringements.

Very disappointed with IPAD features, so that will a no no for ipad related product including ipad domain

The numbers shock me

There are a bunch of these high-priced domains on eBay right now.

It amazes me that anyone would buy a domain with a trademarked name that Apple will very likely take away from them.

It's probably not a typo. There are quite a few idiots on eBay trying to sell domains for extraordinarily high prices, even when the domains are hardly worth a registration fee. They must really think that "there is a sucker born every minute."

I think that the key "4" got stocked on his keyboard. lol...

I wouldn't buy any iPad domain names unless you want trademark lawsuits.

Ha! There was a bit on BBC News the other day about Apple considering the word "Pad" itself to be theirs let alone iPad in response to a developer who had the word "pad" in his iPhone app name (journalpad I think is what the app was).
