.MX -- the domain for Mexico

If you want the functionality of a .COM, but need a top-level domain that tells visitors your passions lie in Mexico, then .MX is for you. Originally launched in 1989, .MX is now being re-launched with no organization or location restrictions. So if your family, your business or interests are tied to Mexico, say "Si!" to .MX. Note: Only persons who owned a .com.mx prior to March 1, 2009 may apply. If you owned a .com.mx prior to March 1 and it is not registered with Go Daddy, transfer now. When the transfer is complete, pre-register for the .mx.

It looks like it's a way to upgrade the .com.mx to a .mx domain.

    I have a co.uk whats the difference between that and a .com.uk?

There isn't much difference I guess, but there is something that still isn't clear to me. Why the hell hasn't United Kingdom chosen for domain.uk instead of domain.co.uk etc?

I think these 'subdomain domains' do suck, although they're official domains..

Does somebody know the reason for it?
