Thread: Offered to sell a domain, please help me decide.

thank you all. yes this does look like a scam aimed for affiliation earning. I have received 5+ e-mails from different people reporting that they received similar messages.

If you received a message and still don't know what to do . simply ignore it, if you have paid for "certified domain appraisal" then issue a payment dispute as soon as possible.

On side note: do you think I should still put my domain for auction? is it worth it? what do you think..

It depends if you want to develop the site. If not, then I would try and judge when the market demand for this domain name is at it's peak and then list it on domain auction sites.

As I thought, this is the typical "Appraisal Scam".

Tell them to F*ck off.

Well, a lot of buyers use a free email account to cut down on spam coming back at them.
So that is not really a red flag.

Now in the body, did ask for reply back to their company email.

I would reply to that email with the price I would want and state that it is a firm price and non-negotiable (that separates the serious domain buyers from the just interested but only at a low price buyers).
Via escrow only, and the buyer pays all escrow fees.
And ask for a contact name and phone number so that you can follow up to make sure your email has been received and to answer any questions they may have.
