    Over 400,000 .co registrations!

This is quite incredible! .co crossed 400k registrations on Aug, 6 - so with these rates by now they are probably at over half a million registrations. A very quick rate of growth for any new tld. Will it suffer the same fate as .mobi, .asia, .us and others? They all received quite a few registrations at first and some market activity, but after a year or two many started to drop their domains admitting that they made a mistake by registering a bunch of crappy domains in an obscure extention.

taobao.com is a super popular Chinese site - alexa 14.
So taobao.co should get some decent type in traffic - it actually has alexa 400k.

Most other .co versions of popular sites either belong to the original TM holders, or weren't auctioned by the registry due to the existing TM's.

taobao dot com is china/chinese base ebay for china product, it hit 6 billion dollar daily transaction now .....

So 31k is not big amount, but the domain trade mark and copy right be a issue there ....

I think chances are high that .co domains wont be a success either, so I didn't buy any.

I gave up domain name squatting as it seems all of the really good ones were automatically purchased by "insiders" every time they roll out another TLD.

well, it is a cctdl but it has a good value

The .co domain of Colombia has generated significant interest as a potential competitor to generic TLDs for commercial use given its possible use as the abbreviation for the word "company". In June and July 2010 .CO was opened for public registrations.
