I would think beem.com would only be worth the registration fee. It must mean something to someone.

But is it $136,000 worth of catchy? Catchy for a nonsense name usually just pushes the price up to $50. There had to be multiple deep-pocket bidders in order to push the price up that high. It has a private registration so I can't see who bought it.

It looks like there are a few famous people named Beem and an Android project called BEEM.

Heh reg fee and $50. A pronounceable web 2.0 all premium char 4 letter domain is worth quite a bit more. I'd say 5k is a good price for that domain for a seller. But to the right buyer it can be worth a lot more.

Any domain name is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Obviously there were bidders willing to pay a lot of Beem.com. I see beem as a word that is prone to being spelled as beam, because beem is not an English dictionary word. It will be interesting to see what the site turns out to be.

Sedo does tend to get the best prices for domains. I'm impressed with some of the prices that people get for domains there.

    RingTones.com
    $750,000
    Mobile Streams as a seller

  8. I know the guy who brokered that deal. I have to say that I think ringtones.com is probably more valuable than ringtone.com (which sold for a lot more) since most people have more than one ringtone. At least I do.
