    Singular and Plural Domain Names

    Hi,

Today I am trying to find some domain for my next project. but max. domains with high search is already registered and max. is parked domains

BTW Leave it and please help me to understand... please

I found a good keyword which have 100k search everymonth and suppose keyword is xxx
    then i go to godaddy and check that all var of this xxx domain is already registered {.com, .net and .org}

Then i think to put word s at the end of my keyword xxxs {same like man and mans }and then all tld is availble.

So my question is that am i will get same serp juice for both domains because google adword keyword show 100k search volume for xxx keyword and less then 1k for xxxs.com

    Please suggest me...
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, the exact match domain bonus only works for exact matches.

    One extra character destroys it.

Keywords in the domain name could be really helpful in serp, but if the competition is high and other sites have 400K+ (yahoo) backlinks, you can't never beat them IMO.

You won't get the huge exact match bonus, but you will get a small bonus for both each time someone links to you with your site name as the anchor text.

I'm facing the same challenge but want to stick with my subject. So here's what I've done.

I created a list of (hundreds of) similar keywords and available domains. That means going down the long tail of my desired keyword.

I created a few pages of content to start with, using keywords of lower search volumes (lower xxx range) and for some, I was able to register an exact match .com or .net.

Here's where I am now, aiming to create more revenue so that I can buy (more expensive) exact match domains further upwards in the tail and subsequently work my way up to the top segment.

Funnily enough Will Aaron Wall talks about this on SEOBook and says that he doesn't "think" the exact match applies to hyphenated domains like my hire-seo.com for example but he has not tested it and asks if anyone has.

Well I have tested over a period of four years (not as a full time research thing obviously) and I know for sure it is OK and you do get the exact match for such things and also they also perform well in the search engines in other ways to.

I started a thread about it here >

    Hyphenated domains on NB

Hire SEO is number 2 on Google.co.uk for me (it has references to UK things like telephone numbers and address on it which will explain why it performs better in G.co.uk as opposed to G.com) for "hire seo" with no baclinks to speak of - well none I have built other than one or two in my own network.

I have other exmples where the only reason the non hyphenated is above me looks to be history trust and decent backlinking, but even with any external backlinking never say never as I plan some more on site tweaking when I get chance.

The thing to watch though is using things like face-book.com when facebook.com already have a large presence and you would obviously be trying to ride off their name using it in your domain name - that would be severely black hat and a de-indexing would apply

Can you post the URL on that? I'm pretty sure Aaron will want to update/fix that.

Here it is. He does say he thinks the hyphenated won't get the benefit but his last line asks if anyone knows....

Thing is though I tested to see and it has worked the same for me with hyphenated domains.
