.gov, .edu and many of the countries-related domains have limitations too.

No, you can make blogs and everything on them. It is just that they are not sold to everyone.

Yes that's what I meant. Sorry, I thought you were talking about this too.

So you are saying can anyone can buy a .tel domain, but you have to link it to a telecom related website?

Yes somewhat like that. It is really crappy tbh unless you are a company.

    To OP,
I believe, as do many in the technology industry and the media, that the .tel is perhaps the biggest innovation since the launch of .com. It happened so that .tel is as unique a top level domain in driving communications and contact information to all devices on the internet. If you wanna know any information about eurodns.com, you can search in google about it. If I am not mistaken is reliable European domain name registrar which you can rely on. I have found a discount on .tel domain: .TEL for 12 EURO, using coupon GOTEL12. Hope this will help you.

You think that .tel domains are more innovative that .org? And .info? .tv, .biz, etc.

    (In fact, anything but .tel!)

.org/.biz weren't very innovative at all. I mean, how many good sites do you see running on either of those extensions? OK, I'll admit that .org is good for organisations, but you could still use .com...

It still surprises me how many people still think .tv was created for websites related to television and video.

Yes, it's mostly used for that, but it's actually the ccTLD for Tuvalu.

I think .tel could be okay for personal branding. Kind of like an online business card. Most likely if it were regulated, .tel could become a principle way of contacting a business. Want to talk to an apple representative? visit apple.tel. Walmart.tel. minusthepie.tel (that one was a joke).

It could work, but then again a lot of people don't put much thought into what the domain name extention implies.
