    Now that's a good idea.

At the moment, you can't use .tel for sites otherthan telecommunications-related ones.

    To OP,
You know, it is not an easy thing to find reliable place to register domain names. But when I visited eurodns.com web site, I have found out that this company has a wide range of accreditations, so you can trust it. As for .tel domains, I think that it will be great investment. You know, a good domain is a big money in your pocket.

I think it is good to buy a .tel as early as possible if you are starting a company.

That is why the .tel was created for. In the future all companies will have their .tel's.

Now that I have stabilized most of my offline responsibilities, you can see me more active here.

Back to the topic, I personally hate .tel. I think that in these times it's important to make some quality new domain extensions that people are actually going to be able to buy, and .tel isn't a good example.

Richael from DomainMarvelous did a great interview/post about .tel domains, check it out:
    Simon, thanks for the plug.

Domain extensions are entirely at the registrants discretion. No matter which TLDs you register, SERP and traffic always boils down to your promotion and SEO efforts.

On this topic, I can safely say that many people are still not so much acquainted with what .tel offers as another domain extension. You can not compare .tel with any other TLDs; it is not your average domain extension. You can not put a website or blog on .tel domains. The template is hosted with the domain registrar and all you can do is put your contact information.

.tel is a new innovation in online communication, whereby, you can centralize all your contact information in an easy to find location. .tel is optimized for normal as well as mobile websites; instead of wading through your website for contact information, your client can quickly access your contact information while on the move.

Imagine a busy businessman looking for a place to grab a bite. He knows about your restaurant in the locality, but does not know the exact street address. Now answer these questions...
    1) Will he prefer to load your restaurant website on his blackberry, wait for it to load and then search for your address all over?

    2) Or will he quickly fire up your .tel website, already optimized for mobile devices, and see your address in an instant?

Remember, this is only a simple example, imagine different scenarios and think for a while?

.tel does offer accessibility and features that normal domains cannot!!!
