What should I do with this domain?

    Domain Name: STUDENTSFORUM.ORG

I saw this at the GoDaddy Auctions and figured it had quite a bit of potential, so I snatched it up for just $5 - now I need to hear some of your ideas on what I could possibly do with this domain! Share your thoughts... I'll award a special prize to whomever's idea I use.

A forum where students can ask questions get answers? :P
That's the first thing that came to mind for me. I thought that I could create a site with information on a variety of student-related subjects and have a nice forum for discussion and answer-seeking. I'm not totally sure about what sorts of topics I could cover, though.

How about using the domain as a term paper site?

Put up some sample term papers, and instructions on how to write & research them.

So, you're proposing a directory of research and academic papers and essays?
That's a pretty good idea, and I might be able to use that in addition to the ideas above!

Imagine the site having covering a number of areas:
A primary site or blog, a forum, a directory, etc. - It would be so useful to visitors and potentially profitable because of a high number of pageviews and whatnot. The only thing would be getting the papers for the directory and deciding what to cover on the forum. (Luckily I have two vBulletin licenses that I'm not using if I decide to do this.)

A forum will be a great idea but what about the community?
Starting off with a good community is the most important factor in a forum. And since its a general topic, targeting all fields of education, getting good members will be troublesome.

Another suggestion i have is : make a directory of educational institutions, this seems to be the easiest acc to me.
A resource directory would be great, BUT, from where will you get the info and how much will you get? In such a situation, whatever amount of info you acquire will always be less, unless your targeting just a particular field.

e.g. today i need some info on some miniature topic in physics, say 'Miller Indices', tomorrow i need some formulae in Mathematics, say formulae for 'Hyperbolic functions in complex nos', etc..,etc.

I once had a prosperous intellectual community - we discussed things like science, technology, mathematics and philosophy. It went really well for a while until I reached the ultimate conclusion that the audience for these subjects was just not large enough to justify running the forum any longer. I also owned a debate forum that had a thousand some members and tons of great posts, however, because of the fact it was so general, it was impossible to make money with it.

I'm trying to learn from these experiences for this endeavor... I'm not really concerned with profit if I'm going to be targeting education, but I would like the forum to be worthwhile from an informational standpoint in that case. So, I could target everything and cover science, math, history, language, etc. - or I could focus on student issues... like applying to college, selecting a major, employment and internships, extracurricular activities, research projects, and things of that nature. I'm just really not sure. I don't want to do anything too broad where it fails, but I also don't want to limit the possibilities. =\

I like your idea on the directory of educational institutions. That could be a handy feature...

The domain is awesome. The forum can have categories where they will share notes, essays, guidance with education, career options after studies..you can even hold webinars for students where you can hire any local education consultant for providing help to students. You can also make videos with them and use it. Yes, video coaching will be good too..it may get bit expensive but try to contact your former teachers and professors. Also, any consultant will be happy to do it cos it will be a way to market his own services. All this can be done only when you have a deep interest and deep pockets.

Also, have a place where high school girls can b*tch about the new hot girl in their class..

But, Whatever you do with this forum, please add a section where we all can spam students with our proxy links..
