You cannot register an .edu domain. It is a restricted TLD. You have to be an acredited post-secondary educational institution, such as a four-year college, in order to register an .edu domain.

And another question to the answerer.
How do we get a .Gov domain registered and from where?
What is the registration and renewal price of .edu and .Gov domains?
    Any ideas?

.gov domains can only be used by government entities in the United States.
I'm guessing it can be very expensive or free
