With or Without WWW? Does it make big difference?

Hello,
Does it make a lot of difference if I link to my sites with WWW or without WWW?

Or is it just pretty much the same?
I mean, it's no big business site, just my small proxy listing site which is becoming bigger soon enough...

But yeah I would like to get bigger via Search engines too, and that's why I want to know if www.ProxLists.Com OR http://proxlists.com (like it is now) makes a difference :D

Hopefully I can get a good answer :D

I think either is fine really, but since you've started the promotion of the site as non-www it's best to keep it that way, and add yourself a 301 redirect so any www links/traffic are redirected to the non-www that way you don't get split rankings for each. all the juice will be on the non-www.

Alright, someone has a quick solution to redirect 'WWW' traffic to 'Non-WWW' ?
Not via .htaccess please...

I think that www adds some 'style' :D
That a personnal point of view...
So, I changed all my WordPress Settings on my blogs to add www before the default URL^^

For proxlists.com, you can go in CPanel => Domains => Redirect => Redirect http://(www.)?proxlists.com/ to http://www.proxlists.com, "Do Not Redirect www." => Add.

That will create an .htacces automatically managed through CPanel.

What's wrong with .htaccess?

You can create a 301 redirect in PHP with:

In cPanel, upload a good .htaccess file. :p

If I remember right. Somebody here in NB had a problem, that his website's PR was different with and without "www". For example: www(.)example.com (PR1), example.com (PR2).

So, my advice is. What ever you choose to use. Use only it. Do NOT use both.
