The last big DDoS attack that I remember against DP was a group of Turkish nationalists who wanted DP to censor posts about the Armenian Genocide.

Yes exactly. That would be considered political.

Or they do it because they are pissed they were banned.

If someone was banned and got so pissed they had to launch a DDOS attack against the site. They better seek treatment asap for anger management.

Did anyone stop to think that maybe people DDoS DP for legitimate reasons?

I mean, that site is a breeding ground for nothing but trouble. Need I again mention all of the various visitor-exploits that Shawn has enacted over the years, with cookie stuffing being the most recent to have been publicized. Aren't you afraid when you go there, knowing that your privacy is being violated and that you are, essentially, being robbed?

Then look at the people who are conducting legitimate business on DP and get banned "bumping a sales thread" or something. I can totally understand their displeasure in a situation like that as well. Then again, the whole DDoS attack could just be personal for who knows what reasons...
