DP introduces Premium memberships

DP introduces paid memberships.

If you haven't noticed yet, DP is [ame="http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1527490"]introducing premium membership[/ame]

Currently after paying about $10-15 per month you get:

• Access to private forum for premium users
• Private message box will hold up to 5,000 messages and don't auto-delete until after 180 days (1,000 messages and 90 days is default)
• Ability to change user title (regardless if you change it [or even if you don't]), your user title will be bold
• You can customize your profile (see my profile for an example)
• Threads you start in Buy/Sell/Trade will be sticky for the first 2 hours (stay at the top) as well as become sticky again for the last 2 hours of your sale.
• Threads in Buy/Sell/Trade are highlighted
• Keyword Tracker users get additional functionality
• You get 4 links in your signature (2 is default)

Coolness But I'll stay free membership, since I would only pay money for a community that's well worth it (NetBuilders)

I guess its 4 as default. Unless they have changed the TOS recently.
I too would be staying as a free member. $10-15 a month is too much for just a premium forum membership which you anyways can't use much with the fear of getting stupid infractions like "Trying to raise post count", "Spam", etc.etc.

BST sticky/highlighting option is good, but then I don't trade much on DP.

Nowadays, signatures are so difficult to sell, so I don't mind having only 2...

Rest all features don't really mean much.

I will stay a free member.

I think they changed it, 2 seems to be the max now for regular members.
I do lots of biz on DP so I'll probably upgrade soon for the cool bold username and thread highlighting, sticky benefits.

Post count won't matter much here Sami4u.
It is suitable only for those who are extremely active in the BST sections and buy/sell stuff very often and so also earn quite a bit from that section itself. Infact $25 a month is not worth getting just '2 hrs' attention from a thread. Infact, for these 2 hrs, your thread will anyway be at the top itself(top 5-8) even if you are a free member.

What will happen if many premium members make threads on same time . I think this can hurt free users business because all sales thread created by them will displayed after premium members thread .

Now think 20 new threads created by premium members in one hour and than one free thread is created than it will automatically displayed on 21 place , which means second page .

Don't you think that this step can make free users mad .

What sucks about that change is that they are charging everyone, old members included. I am not an old member, but there are people with like 400 iTraders and enormous post counts, and they have to pay the same amount of money to get the same benefits as a new members who registered yesterday.

I don't plan to become a premium member anytime soon.
