“Democracy is the most vile form of government.”
    James Madison

Source: James Madison Quotes (Author of The Federalist Papers)

"Hence it is that democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and in general have been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths... A republic, by which I mean a government in which a scheme of representation takes place, opens a different prospect and promises the cure for which we are seeking." James Madison, Federalist Papers No. 10 (1787).

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!" Ben Franklin

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” Thomas Jefferson

“Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” John Adams

“But government in which the majority rule in all cases can not be based on justice, even as far as men understand it.” Henry David Thoreau

Documented quotes from the very people who wrote the US Constitution are nothing more than a "nice try" to you??

There's no point in discussing this further. Have a good day.

Well if you call arguing a discussion, I don't know what to say, and in this case there is no mutual point of interests.

I will say it again, It was a nice try to argue that the Founding Fathers who wrote the Constitution gave us a Republic without to mention that democracies and republics overlap, that was the point I made.

If people are interested by this subject and want to understand what is a true democracy and the fundamental principales of democracy, I recommend you to read this book:

By Charles F. Bahmueller, Michael Johnston, Charles N. Quigley

You can either buy the book at the book stores or read the book at: Elements of Democracy: The Fundamental Principles, Concepts, Social ... - Charles F. Bahmueller, Michael Johnston, Charles N. Quigley - Google Books
