    Living on Mars

On the surface, the red planets freeze-dried world of rocks, ice, and dust looks like an unlikely place to plant a garden. But rocks and minerals found by the Mars rovers show it must once have had warmer, habitable living conditions. Now, using photorealistic CGI visualizations, well make a science fiction dream of Mars — a world of trees, rivers, and blue skies, bringing it to life after three-and-a-half billion years in a deep freeze.

This is a good series, but the 3rd video crashes.

Yep, sorry about that I didn't find another source.

It was very interesting, and very impressive that we could change this planet where our human race could live. I have read that Earth will be destroyed by the sun in 1.6 billion of years or so and that Mars could be a way for human to extend the stay for another billion of years or so in our solar system before the sun swells before dying and became a white dwarf star.

There are so much scientific projects that we could achieve instead of militarizing the world. It would be smarter to forget about all kind of military weapons, and use their technologies for science, space mining and universe explorations. It could be an enormous market too.

For the future, a mission to mars, the best idea yet, facing difficult since Obama cancelled the constellation programme, there is a new plan by a young man, which could take man back to the moon, to an asteroid, a new I.S.S, and commercial space, and a mission to mars, will Obama agree to a plan that includes all he suggested and the moon, closer and cheaper to go to, and worth trillions of dollars, a new moon base on the moon by 2025 costing 5 lunar mission, two manned, one cargo, 2 habitats, every year up to 2025 when the base is completed and reusable lander's will be sent up to the moon, this idea was made this year, while this video was made 5 years ago, and this new space idea by the young man was made after this programme, and made this year 2012, lets hope politicians are not ignorant and will take up this young mans idea.

The earth could be destroyed by the sun tomorrow. All it would take is a direct hit from a large CME (coronal mass ejection). That is basically blast of plasma radiation ejected by the sun.

Coronal mass ejection - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 1.6 billion years the sun could go supernova, which would destroy all life in our solar system and any nearby systems. That doesn't leave Mars as a safe zone. There is so much radiation emitted with a supernova that if any nearby star went supernova it would wipe out everything on Earth. In fact, if Proxima Centauri (the nearest star) went supernova a year ago, we would not know it for another 3 years because it's 4.2 light years away. By the time we detected the supernova we would all be dead.

Space is a very dangerous place.

oh yes, we can be wiped out from existence like the dinosaurs at anytime and there is nothing today we can do about it.

See how small we are compared to Canis Majoris? It will take 1100 years to circle this star with an airplane going at 900 km/h and there a billions like those in the universe.
