Forum Signature Links Vs Blog links

I do believe that in today's google environment that to have a link in a blog post is the best.
Not in the sidebar, or as a comment, but actually in the blog post.

Forums, I am leaning more towards the links IN a thread and not the links in a signature file are more worth in google's world.

Exactly. Add the word "related" to blog post or forum thread. The link must look natural. Google has made it clear that excessive links from unrelated sites are a potential target. That would mean signature links. I suspect that they do not affect a site until they reach a certain threshold percentage of the total links to a site.

I never get a lot of traffic from blogroll links, even when the blogs have a high amount of traffic. But some of the best traffic providers are indeed links people have given me from their own blog posts and links from people sharing my articles in forums.

Just look at searches and see more and more posts with a link showing up.

True I have found out.
A link in my sidebar does not get that many clicks relative to my traffic.
But a link in a blog post gets a lot of clicks.

That I know from the other webmasters who keep track and let me know.

I am slowly moving more and more to when I reference a site not to use what I do now, Read MORE. More HERE.
But to use more the name of the site I reference like this, Read it all at Jacks Super Blog.

I am finding doing so?
That the end site more readily knows where a link is and the traffic I send.

I watched that when I ran feedjit. Out of 10 people coming directly from social media outlet, at least 8 were clicking the "read more" link.

True I have found out.

So do I. And every once in a while someone clicks But 99% of my forum traffic does come from particular posts where someone referenced me. Mostly in forums where I am not even a member (nor would want to be)

But you still lean towards promoting your forum signature links it seems.
