Thanks to spamming, all the forums will have to turn NO FOLLOW very soon.
Thanks to spamming, all the forums will have to turn NO FOLLOW very soon.
One of my favorite forums, recently went from do-follow to no-follow.....and this made me quite upset. I mean prior to them notifying members of the change, I was not even aware that the forum was a do-follow forum, but upon finding out that the forum was orginally do-follow, and that they recently changed it to no-follow, as a member really ticked me off!
I mean come on now, whoever came up with the idea of no-follow in the first place should be shot! I mean, realistically, do forum owners really believe that by simply going no-follow, that that will stop the spam!
No it will not stop the spam, spam is relentless and whether a forum is do-follow or no-follow spammers don't really care, they are still going to do what they do best and spam your forum, why take something away from your valued members, in an attempt to stop something which is impossible to stop. It just doesnt make sense to me, moderators are what stop spam, not a no-follow attribute.
Much Thanks,
BiologyWebmaster

I will not go no-follow, unless it is obvious spams.
by that way you will be beneficial to the users who are active on the community!
I have not yet seen this type of discussion before; however, if this is really true then one of the good tactics of link building will be disappeared. Now come to the point what will happen then? First of all new forum owners will be pleased to keep their forum do-follow bcz they will at least get real user for link building.
Not all the forums going to be nofollow as it depends on the website owner whether to make forum nofollow or to keep it dofollow. And if any site has the high authority content and higher valuable discussion, and if such site starts to get worst content then might be that site owner make its forum nofollow to stop such kind of content. And nofollow links be helpful for the site owner to keep its site safe.

yes ,my forum going to go no-follow ;
i m writing my post from my hand ;
hello
I am read the post and hardly writing the post it still upon the form
More often the reason for a forum to change from do-follow to no-follow is due to panic after a severe loss of traffic. Since most spam is low quality, the thought is that going no-follow will increase the quality and allow the forum to recover from Google updates like Panda or Penguin. But like BiologyWebmaster said, the no-follow tag isn't going to stop spam.
There's always going to be spam. Just like there's always going to be weeds and dogs crapping on your lawn. As long as they don't take over the place, your lawn will to fine. It's just a matter of reseeding and keeping it growing. The elimination of spam isn't a substitute for growth or the lack of proper attention.
I couldn't have said it better ... This is the kind of post that makes forum owners change their forum to no-follow.
Yes, it depends on the website owners and you can still find lots of dofollow forums..
If you do see DoFollow links in most forums, they are redirected, anyway, giving the forum the juice, not your link. Be aware that you need to speak directly to the forum members about their own interest, otherwise a sudden veer into Coquitlam Counselliing in the middle of your post makes no sense to them.
