Thread: Self Hosted or Free Portfolio?

Do you have a .com portfolio, or one hosted with a service such as CarbonMade.com? I personally use.com's, just because you get more branding. However, you don't get the instant exposure.

I don't really have a portfolio that is ready but I have Farrhad.com (I know the design is pathetic, I think I was 12 when I made it).

But a .com is way better than a free one. Easier to remember and promote too. It also leaves a better impression.

True, but with free portfolios you get those who browse to find designers, as opposed to some who are actually intimidated by a standalone website.

I would go in for a free portfolio at first, thus if someone is browsing around they can stumble upon me. Also I can save some money.

for me branded portfolio is better than those free hosted because it gives a good impression to prospective clients.
