I have taken the plunge and started freelance writing. I am looking for projects that have to deal with writing articles, either for websites or for distribution. The length varies, but is in the range of 300-700 words.
I have gotten one project so far, from DP. However, I want to start charging at least $.02 per word and at that rate DP doesn't yield too much work. Where are some good places I can go to both offer my services and bid on projects; places that will not shun you if you charge over $.01 per word?
I am a native English speaker and, as you can see, understand a thing or two about grammar. Although I am more of a general writer and do not have an area where I am a deep specialist, I do have certain subjects that I am fairly experienced in. Regardless, I can do some research and turn out an article that is more than basic if it is a subject that I am not that well versed in.
So, what do you think; is there a market for a writer with skills and prices like mine?

. With this you need to be very efficient and quick in replying and searching for the work. There are many online websites/portals available that facilitate in finding writing work, i.e. vworker.com, freelancer.com, guru.com, scriptlance.coand desk.com.
