What Program Do You Use for Writing Articles?

Seems simple, but can throw newbies sometimes....Over the last year, for example, I have:
1 - Used MS Word, then...
2 - Used Google Docs, then...
3 - Shifted to Open Office

I still use Word/Notepad (I gave up MAC's about a year ago when my MacBook ate iteself...) top copy/paste/remove extraneous formatting/links from research material.

    What do you use? Pros/Cons?

My current favorite is the Open Office text editor. I like it since you can embed links and HTML formatting (H1, H2, etc)...
I don't like that it won't run fast on a machine that doesn't have a lot of RAM (it runs off client-side Java)

I'm only using Open Office and sometimes notepad. Usually, I do all formatting once its pasted in my Wordpress site.

    pen & paper (draft)
Word (proof reading and error checks)
then use Wordpress for formatting also.

    OpenOffice for complex documents.
    Formatting is done in Wordpress.
Articles, blog posts, and things of that nature I just do in Wordpad.

OpenOffice has a spell check feature. So does Wordpress/Firefox.
If I'm writing something in Wordpad, and not putting it into Wordpress, I get a spell check done by WordCountTool.com

    LOL

I love it when someone talks about their Mac like that. They are just too over-hyped - the hardware and software are actually similar for both Apple and non-Apple machines. And yes, Macs do crash.

Coming back on topic, I use OpenOffice because it's free, has good capabilities and is not very resource hungry.

Most of my articles are posted in WordPress sites, so I write directly in WordPress and use the FireFox spell checker.

You know I happen to hate posts like these,if i want to read stuff like this i can go to a Macbook pro review on youtube and read 50 000 000 comments just like this one.
Now when it comes to writing i just use plain old Notepad++
