Thread: Amazon kindle

  1. Amazon kindle

    Anyone bought the amazon kindle?

Looks pretty good, although it says they've run out currently.
I hate having to wait over 3 weeks to get my books and also pay quite a bit for delivery.

I've been looking at buying one since a lot of the books I've wanted lately haven't been available in the local bookstores.

The problem for me is that they really haven't gone international yet.

That looks pretty awesome! Quite often I want to research something quickly, outside of the house -- away from Internet access. Having Wikipedia there, without having to pay monthly fees or whatever, would be wick'.

I'd find it easier to pick up and read, as well. I don't like the thought of creasing a book, so I generally only open the cover, just enough for me to read the words.

Oh, I just noticed that as well, it's only available in US for now

Well then, maybe there are some alternatives..

As an alternative, have you considered mail forwarders? You can have your own US adress which is physically located at the mail forwarder, they will then mail it to you.

Thought about that -- but it probably wouldn't have very good wireless connectivity if it were located outside of the United States.
