The ‘New Paper’ reported yesterday, Lim Ding Wen, a 9 year old Singaporean kid writes iPhone application. His iPhone application called ‘Doodle Kids’ has been downloaded for 4,000 times within the last 2 weeks.
At this age when children play and draw objects like fruits and natural scenes to satisfy their pleasure soul, Lim Ding finds atonement in writing applications for Apple’s famous iPhone. The Doodle Kids is an iPhone drawing application meant for children. It allows the children to draw using their finger.
They can draw object by touching the screen and dragging their finger to form a shape. Interesting enough, to erase or delete the object, you only have to shake your iPhone, and there you go.
Lim told, “I wrote the program for my younger sisters, who like to draw,” Lim said. He has two younger sisters aged 3 and 5.
It is told that Lim started using computer while he was only 2. Lim masters in 6 programming languages
and has completed up to 20 programming projects. He is currently working on another iPhone gaming application. It is a science fiction game named as “Invaders Wars”.
The 9 year’s father Lim Thye Chean is also related to the same field. He is the inspiration behind his sons’ great production and talent. Lim Thye also writes iPhone applications and works as a chief technology officer at a local technology firm.
He keeps the updates of his sons’ projects Thye says “Every evening we check the statistics emailed to us (by iTunes) to see who has more downloads.”
