Live, learn and pass it on

A friend of mine told me about this board he has hanging in his bedroom wall. He gave it a title, "Live, learn and pass it on." He has friends writing on the board about inspiring things that his friends have learned in their lives.

I thought his was a good idea... let's start a thread, and pass on what you have learned!

    I'll start:

I learned that unconditional love should be free but not cheap to be taken for granted or trampled on.

    Next please!

    1 + 1 = 2. You have to start somewhere.

    What goes around, comes around.

If you don't ask, you don't get.

If you do ask, but too often, you don't get (i.e. if someone IM's you something that you cannot comprehend, don't ask what they mean, do some research and find out).

So does Will. That's when I learnt that I had gone from asking not enough questions to too many questions.

Take advantage of opportunities handed to you. Don't let them pass by.

I have learned that anything you have, should not be taken for granted, because if you do an not appreciate it, you can easily lose it.

That's reminds me of the motto of the TechGuy forums:

There's no such thing as a stupid question, but they're the easiest to answer.

And that one reminds me of Thomas Edison's comment:

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

Saw this one in a book the other day:

You don't get the fruit without climbing the three.

    And this one:
