Now who in their right mind would want to go to any other planet?

The mars rover Curiousity is now on the planet.
Getting some more great pictures like the first mars rover.
Also making the intertubes happy to have a new meme.

So, who in their right mind would really want to go to mars?

Or any other planet in our solar system?

I dunno... Ask me after November. If we get another round of the clownshow that currently in the oval office I might be willing to go.

    Hey, no politics!
    Hahahahahaha...

Probably be a lot of volunteers!
Poor volunteers as the rich will leave for another country.

Heck, around our place you can start a political argument by saying Good Morning. I show remarkable reserve in here.

My lovely wife and her family are DIDs. That is what I call them, Damn Iowa Democrats.

So to keep married, we stay about 99% away from politics.

Though it gripes her to no end that her oldest daughter and her husband switched to republican party a couple years back!

So I am known to her family as that Texas Republican.

We can go further dark into the family roots (my family).
If one goes back and checks the genealogy, guess who is a distant cousin?
    LBJ.

Well, if we take any votes you wont be allowed to help count the ballots.

People would go to Mars to do contract work. Maybe you could get paid $1M per month?

I imagine that there would be construction jobs, mining, project management, military outpost (to defend US soil on Mars) etc. Maybe Trump would want to develop a new city in space there?

Or just general planet vacations may come about for the billionaires. How cool would it be to say I holidayed at Venus rather than trying to compete for the largest mega yacht? I suspect that many people could afford $100M for a vacation.

Rich or not, keep in mind it is a 9 month one-way trip to Mars.

It could happen at some point in the future where man will finally spread out to Mars and other planets.
Best bet are the moons of Jupiter, Uranus and Saturn.
