    Quality - Quantity

What you need in forum quality or quantity threads/posts ?

Quality: Less members > Less threads/posts > Forums not popular

Quantity: More members > more threads/posts > Popular forums

    Views please

  2. I figure that if I aim for quality, quantity will just happen.

    The converse is not true.

I would go for quality. I don't know how to explain why, but I can try.

Quality is like having a gold bar.
Quantity is like having lots of something you don't probably need. And few pieces of gold here and there.

I would take the gold bar.

Ps. My explanations have never made much sense.

I agree with you Will and Desan. Quality is definitely much better than quantity.

Quality of course! If your forums have quality posts then people should be happier to join knowing that they can understand you and find what they need. If you just have quantity, it would look like a spam fest (cough cough DP as an example )

If there will be Quality threads then the threads will get a lot of replies and the forum will be active and the forum will become popular.. DP is popular because it used to have Quality threads earlier.

  7. Now we just have to define "quality posts" and make sure they are getting manufactured.

    I agree 100 % with you buddy.
IMO you must have the number of members to reply it.

Quality post = Check all posts made by me, and do exactly the opposite. LOL. I will make something that might actually help someone, in the near future.

Quality is far better in my view. Although once a forum becomes more and more popular, the quantity can destroy quality. Then it is up to the admins/mods to enforce rules and always be looking for ways to make the site better. For example, in DP I think the quantity has destroyed the quality and because the admins/mods have not changed the site in a very long time, it has turned crap. Just because it worked good 5 years ago doesn't mean the same thing will work effectively now.
