Unhappy Spammer Using My E-Mail Address

Some spammer has been using a vectro.com e-mail address as the return address to send spam. I noticed it when I started receiving bouncebacks because some of the messages were sent to failed addresses. This seems to have been going on for about 2 weeks now. If anyone has received one, it's not from me.

    This is an example message:

    Good day, my friend!

What the world really needs is more love and less paper work.
I want to feel a heaven in your kiss. I know the day I find you my heart
will beat madly. And when you hold my hand I will soar to heaven and will not
drift back down to earth again. Our love will become a fairy-tale with a happy
end.I am waiting for you here <web address removed>
my love in order to make our dreams come true.

    Yanny K.

    This is another example:

    Hi, my dear friend

There is a place you can touch a woman that will drive her crazy. Her heart.
Some people say that love is wrong and that we should get on with our lives, but I think they're all wrong. They don't see the
truth, and they don't know how good I feel when I imagine and our love that we will find one day. What do they know about
romance that I have in my heart and that I want to
share with you? We have to find each other <web address removed>
my dear to fly together and enjoy this beautiful life.

    Yanna K.

  2. Do you think it's just someone randomly using it or do you think it may be someone you know messing with you?

I'm guessing it's random. I had to track down the owners of the open relay servers that were used and give them a heads up. I think I even found the original spammer. I contacted a lot of different ISPs who's networks were used for this and filed abuse reports. Most of them were responsible, thankfully. I think the problem stopped.

The first email is quoting Pearl Bailey, in the second it's Melanie Griffith.
As long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold him down, so it means you cannot soar as you otherwise might.

    Thanks.

You know what else you could do? If it's an affiliate link to a dating site, you could contact and forward the email to the dating service. If not, and/or you would like to go further, you can report it online to the FBI Internet crimes division. Just a thought.

The spammer (or infected computer used by the spammer) traced back to Europe. It's outside of U.S. jurisdiction. The ISP I contacted took care of it. Spam itself is not a crime in the U.S., anyway, unless the spam is about something illegal. This is the kind of thing that happens all the time and in too high of a volume for all law enforcement and server admins in the world to keep up with.

    It started again

This time through different mail servers.
