  1. Question Web 2.0 is English's 1 Millionth Word

    This this world news.

"Web 2.0" is the official one millionth word in the English language?

Just curious to know what do you guys think.

    There were other contenders like:

    New English words

Web 2.0: the second generation of the Internet

n00b: a new or inexperienced user, usually with technology

Jai Ho: an exclamation of victory, from Hindi

slumdog: an unkind term for a person who lives in a slum

Is that even a word? It should be a phrase. Weird

I give up on the English language...officially. Web 2.0 is not a word and I refuse to recognize it as such. It has NUMBERS in it! (as does n00b)

    Yes, I agree with you.

The 'standard' of English sure has fallen.

Even in my school the English corrections are so very lenient sometimes it ticks you off.

I also have to disagree. Web 2.0 is more of a technique rather then a word. If that is not the case DHTML, AJAX, XML-RPC and SOAP would all need to be added to the dictionary.
