What Car Would You Get In Japan?

I currently live in Japan and most of the cars are so boring.

Generally they are white and the new models tend to become even more boring-looking in appearance.

A classic example is the Nissan Skyline, it used to be a desirable muscle car but now it looks more like a family saloon.

As far as I can tell, there are only a few interesting Japanese cars left:

    Maxda MX3
    Maxda 6 Sport wagon
    Subaru Impreza
    Honda CRX
    Nissan 350Z
    Mitsubishi Lancer

Basically, I want a Japanese car that is attractive, sporty, and I can put a Kayak on the roof rack.

    Please help ...

Honda no longer produce CRX now .... it called CRZ with totally different attitude ....

Skylines are amazing IMO. How is this boring? While I will admit the newer skylines aren't as nice the GTR is amazing.
Out of your list though I would go for a 350Z or you could get a s15?

Of course, in no way is the GTR boring It's a bit too extreme though for my needs. I was meaning that the more practical cars tend to be boring, there is often something not quite right about the design.

Buying used, older cars is probably the way to go.

    Hi,

Check around for dealers demos. That's what my biological farther does. He explained to me one time that a new car loses $5,000 the sec you drive it off the lot. He never buys new. He hunts for the demo car. Most new cars he buy's have between 1,000 to 3,000 miles on them and you can save big bucks that way.

Also they still come with warranties.
