Thread: What other webmaster related sites do you visit?

That's great advice, but I'd like to find out how you spy on your competitors and beat them for backlinks. A detailed blow by blow tutorial on getting backlinks and measuring their value in relation to other links would be great.

I just searched my 'favorites', and I saw these sites too.. I'm visiting them sometimes, when I have nothing to do and I start browsing the favorites:
    Official Google Webmaster Central Blog
Webmaster Blog - Resources for Web Designers, Search Engine Marketers, and Web Entrepreneurs

And this one isn't really a webmaster blog, but I like to read the posts:
Matt Mullenweg — aka Photo Matt — on WordPress, Web, Jazz, Life, and Photography

    Greetz

Here is a free one Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch but there are better ones out there. My friend uses some other program which you have to pay for and once in a while runs a site of mine thru there to show which one of the links counts the most. I believe it is actually a tool which SEO Moz, which I am not a paid member of, offers.

I will have to get back with you on that, but for now use BLW and see what you can find.
I am also a writer for Serpholic Media. You can find some of my articles here: Serpholic Media Blog

Being primarily a Domainer and System Admin...

In addition to the sites previously listed, here's the tools I use:

First are the forums at WebHostingTalk.com (WHT) for everything on the SysAdmin side of the house.

DNSstuff.com - A Great resource for those of you that are system administrators. More than you ever wanted to know about your DNS servers.

Similar to Hellas' recommendation of DomainsBot, which I really like (especially being FREE), I also use ExpiredDomains.com. I've been a subscriber there for quite a while. It's a great resource for finding dropped or expiring names.

Another good domain research tool that I frequent is EstiBot.com. EstiBot does appraisals, type-in traffic checking, long tail tools and much much more.

And finally DomainTools.com another great domain research tool especially regarding the history of the domain. Their domain suggestion tool is rather lame compared to DomainsBot or ExpiredDomains but there are some really useful tools here.

I have a long list of webmaster forums that I visit daily, but you said you didn't want those.

The only webmaster blog that I keep up with is Randy Brown's blog.
