Where am I from? Something strange is happening

    Hi,

First I have ran everything I have, all virus and malware and all programs are coming up clean No threats found.

However something is up I just don't know what.

I was at paypal and when I went to pay there program thought I was from another country. I had to change the words back to English.

I went to login to my email account yahoo, and it told me that the did not recognize my location and asked for verification also ask me to change my password. Yahoo was showing weather from Amsterdam.

I then did an IP look up and it said I was from KS USA where I live now.

Any Idea why paypal and yahoo email would think I am from the Netherlands???

    Ideas on what to do?

Make sure that your Operating system do not allow remote connections and that function is turned off. Clear all the cookies and restart your computer.

If that doesn't fix your problem, turn off your modem, and your router, wait a few minutes and then turn them back on. If the problem persist call your Internet Service Provider (ISP) technical service.

    Hi,

Remote is disabled by default in Windows 7 and I just checked it is still off. I use Ccleaner to handle cookies and other things. My one AdwCleaner v3.022 clean items on a reboot so the computer has been shut down for a short time. The only thing I have not done is shut off the router will try that.

I really hope I don't have to call Internet Service Provider (ISP) technical service, the last time I did that I was on hold for almost 3hrs

It is sometimes difficult to find the issue. I was thinking of a particular thing in the browser like FF. Have you checked if the browser in use is configured in proxy mode?

In Chrome I get it auto-translating Facebook when I didn't ask it to. But that is the only related issue I have seen. Maybe you have another browser device that you could try such as a smart phone?
