Thread: Your favorite OS?

  1. #11
Microsoft still thinks Vista is a nice OS.

C'mon people... Vista is just slow and an insult to your PC :P

Thanks (I did not notice your answer before today).

And Keith, Ubuntu looks amazing! 0_0

Can you make it work as XP because it looks so from your screenshot, but is it only a theme?

(and next time, try to upload a smaller image please :P)

Screenshot changed to a Link, I did not look at it after I made the post.

The XP is not a Theme, It is Windows XP installed within Virtual Box (with seamless mode). There are some applications I use in my professional life that only play well with XP

This is not a genuine version, I presume? Anyway, do you know if it is compatible with Vista (and eventually, 7) ?

It is a Genuine Version - I actually dont have any illegal versions of Windows (Most computers, including mine came with a legal version, I just formatted my PC and re-installed Windows into the Virtual PC)

Thanks for the precision, so was it hard to install? I might just be interested in trying Linux.

There is also something called Wine HQ which can run some of the Windows Applications. Keep in mind that most of your Windows XP programs can't run under Ubuntu, it is something completely different.

Btw KDisk, do you have an NVidia card? Because I couldn't get compiz to work of a dual monitor with ATI. BLERG.

  9. Only ever used Windows. I'm on Vista Home Premium now and I like it. I didn't at first but I grew into it
