Keyword Page Experts - Got No.1 in Google

    Hi,

How about the keyword - Keyword Page Experts ?? Yeah of course it may have only very low monthly search volume.. But we could compete a good number of results.. But we could get the No.1 place in google for this. Not a big thing though .

Results 1 - 10 of about 24,000,000 for Keyword Page Experts. (0.26 seconds)

I think if we continue working on we can get a better result for a similar two word phrase. What you think. Thanks in advance for your kind advices and suggestions.

Btw we got the ranking for this article - Google Keyword Optimization | Seo tips from SEO Experts

    Thanks

Google says that it has "not enough data" to estimate a search volume.

    Is it bringing you traffic?

It seems to me that you should chase keywords that at least have some traffic!

There are only 7 people competing, including yourself. That wouldn't even require link building to hit the first page.

Spend some time using Google Adwords Keyword Tool and WordTracker to establish some keywords that receive some search volume. Make sure that you're not competing against too many, authoritative sites that you do not think you can beat.

I personally don't trust the AdWords keyword tool, as it has been inaccurate on a number of occasions (although I do think it's accurate in the case of "keyword page experts"). I believe that a better indicator of what people are searching for is to go by what shows up in Google Suggest, which is now integrated into the Google search box on their homepage. Another tool that's pretty good is the Microsoft adCenter keyword tool, but you need an adCenter account in order to use it.

"Keyword page experts" doesn't register on Google's dial:

Regarding Google Suggest, Google says "... suggestions are drawn from searches you've done, searches done by users all over the world, sites in our search index, and ads in our advertising network ..."

As such, Google Suggest isn't really designed to accurately reflect what people are searching for.

The number of results showing isn't an accurate measure of how competitive a keyword is.

Did you target "Keyword Page Experts" as one of your keywords?

That's IF you're signed in to your Google account. If you're not signed in, then Google says that "no history-based suggestions are displayed."

Then what is it designed to do?

Amazon, eBay, and other sites are all using similar technology to make it easier for their visitors to find the items or information that they're looking for. It doesn't make sense to show results that aren't frequently searched. Are you saying that Google Suggest has a different purpose?

It seems more focused on showing what pages are available. i.e. highlighting what Wordtracker would call "Competition."

    Rule Number One:
When trying to rank highly for a keyword, do not make a NetBuilders thread with the keyword in the title. (See Sturat's post above for the reason.)

And, usually when a keyword is really easy to rank highly for, it's that easy for a reason.
Look for mid-level competitive keywords - perfect combination of traffic and potential to rank highly.

Or invest all of your efforts into one major keyword. Or be daring and rank number one for a bunch of little-traffic keywords. :P

Which has got me thinking... I'm gonna give something a try.
