Thread: More Wordtracker Madness

  1. More Wordtracker Madness

I'm taking some time to do keyword research this morning.

I found some interesting keywords -- or did I?

Here are two of the keywords Wordtracker identified:
    "human circulatory system diseases"
    KEI: 83721.8
    Count: 647
    24hrs: 521
    Competing: 5

    "names of heart diseases"
    KEI: 485.1
    Count: 924
    24hrs: 744
    Competing: 1760
About a half hour later, I wanted to do an easy visual comparison of a subset of keywords, so I entered a few of the same keywords again.

Note how the results differ in such a short amount of time:
    "human circulatory system diseases"
    KEI: 0.000
    Count: 0
    24hrs: 0
    Competing: 5

    "names of heart diseases"
    KEI: 0.000
    Count: 0
    24hrs: 0
    Competing: 1760
There keywords don't look so awesome now, do they?

  2. So does that means that we must not buy wordtracker premium services . Even I have noticed many keywords like them in keyword country .

  3. I wouldn't necessarily say that.

I maintain a Wordtracker subscription because, even with all the problems, it's the best data source I've found.

Actually few months back I took keyword country membership for searching new niche keywords on nursing and medicines . I was planning to buy good domain name on those keywords but didn't got any good success but I will say these tools are useful for article writers and they can add new keywords related to their content .

Weird stuff indeed. It's good that you noticed it as I hardly re-search one of the searches I made (except after a period of 4 weeks to check how everything is going then). WordTracker is good to me, it isn't something to rely on, but it's something that gives me trust to invest in some more stuff I usually wouldn't buy!

It seems that your gut is the best keyword research software available.

I tried that once and created content that I thought would be useful to people. Out of approx 25 articles, got something like 2-3 visits per day from google. If proper research is done, 2-3 visits/day PER article is much more likely. However it depends on the website, my example was purely for building traffic via google.

    Hi Will,

my name's Mal, and I work for Wordtracker Customer Service. I'm sorry you've had a bit of trouble with this - the second set of results is clearly erroneous (I've checked those phrases myself, and the original results are much closer to the mark). This can sometimes happen when you hit a time of particularly high server load, and if you see results like this, it's well worth running the evaluation report again, as this normally puts things back to normal.

Please do let us know if you have any other queries - you can reach me directly at mal[at]wordtracker[dot]com if you'd prefer.

  9. Mal:

Thanks so much for posting! It's great to see you here.

I'll do more testing and report any results I find.
