The Webmaster-Toolkit Keyword Research Tool is another useful tool for finding related keywords.

For example, I am thinking about building a site about anti-aging technologies. It's a growing field, because science is finally making some real progress.

I don't have a lot of data regarding keywords in this niche, so I throw in one of the few keywords that I can think of - resveratrol. Resveratrol is a grape skin extract which has shown the ability to extend the lifespans of laboratory mice up to 30%.

Here's what the Keyword Research Tool gave me in response:

A lot of these are silly, but some could be useful. "2006" is silly, but "polyphenols" is one I probably would have never thought of on my own.

So now we take this list and throw it into Wordtracker with a "Precise" search to get approximate data on search volumes and competitiveness.

Wordtracker seems to show that these keywords are very competitive. I'll have to find better keywords, find a better niche, or settle in for a long fight.

The next step would be to take one of these keywords, put them back into the Keyword Research Tool, and iterate the process over and over again.
