Thread: Anyone Using Ning?

I've been using Ning for a few sites. It's come a long way from even a few months ago...

Many of these sites have thousands of members, some are selling sponsorship/ad space and/or are selling "groups" where content is featured. Ning has many features to easily customize the site. However, to do the really cool stuff, you need to know "CSS for Ning"; they sponsor a decent developers forum, but looks to mostly feature the basics...

Anyone using Ning beyond friends/family networks?

Looks really cool. I have never heard of Ning. Is it a script you buy and then install and template?

I've heard of Ning, but I never really checked it out. I didn't know you could host a Ning outside of Ning. Looks like I am going to have to take a look

There are some scripts for sale, but they are limited. Here's a posting: Customizing Ning

It looks like people are starting to sell services in this space. Given Ning is growing, it looks like there will be more and more opportunity for developers to make some $.

I have a few Ning groups. Mainly Conservative Views and also Mortgage Brokers - Financing every corner of the world! and Costa Rica Real Estate - Real Estate in Costa Rica

I am also member on a few Ning groups. Love how I can use the same login for all of those. Makes it very easy to respond to messages when you get email alerts from them all.

I think I'm going to take a look at this. Never heard of it before.

I Like that too, but since they've changed the "home page" it doesn't show the random Ning sites...the "most popular, active...etc". Am I missing something? I liked that, and found some pretty cool ones just from the random posts...
