article directory is different than social bookmark script, I'm using article friendly for my article directory and pligg for my social bookmark, you can check it by clicking on my signature

I've seen a LOT of people using wordpress as their article directory.
We all know how good wordpress can be for SEO, it's not surprising that it's being used IMO.

there is a wordpress directory plugin for this. try searching directory press.

If you are planning to run an article site then you need patience and it needs constant pampering, it should be worthwhile to submit articles to, promote relenlessly to gain PR and alexa rankings, hire someone to secure the codes whichever script you are using.

yes i does think of wp but worry abt the secure issue cause is under gov base ...

ArticleDashboard for site similar to article directories or wp article directory plugin. You may hire professional for DB security

I will prefer wp plugin.

This thread is to share my happiness with the forum members. After several efforts, I finally got a domain of my dream. I wanted to establish a directory site dedicated to small business. This niche is not being focused by the directory owners. So, I thought of starting an article directory for this terrain. phpLD now works as an article directory.

ArticleMS is another option.

SEO Article Directory Software might also work, but I'm not 100% certain.

ArticleDashboard will probably work, but their landing page turns me off so quickly I refuse to read it.

The Article directory Wordpress Plugin is a newer option which looks really interesting.

Any link directory script can be used as an article directory, but several of the ones mentioned here are a bit tricky for total beginners - most of them will require some tweaking of the PHP code to customize.

I've made a list of and reviewed the top 20 or so scripts, including comments on how good the support is and how easy each one might be for a beginner to used.
