Best Newsletter

Hello,
Recently I bought a new website that included a Yahoo Group with 5000 members. The seller gave me access to download the emails through the memberlist (which I did) and than he removed the group from Yahoo.

Now ofcourse, I want to restart a newsletter (previously you could import them into Yahoo, but now you can only add 10 emails per day) but the problem is that I don't know how & what.

I've looked into Aweber already, but it's too costly since I'm not sure if I can get the money from selling some advertisements in the emails.. is there any other GOOD newsletter script somewhere?

The emails should also go to the inbox of users -- and with new domains it's usually in the 'spam' or 'junk' box.. anything that can be done to prevent that?

I like MailChimp and Aweber. MailChimp is free up till 500 subscribers, after that the pricing is pretty much on par with Aweber.

Yahoo doesn't just allow to take over a group? That's too bad, because that would've been your easiest route.

Any CAN-SPAM compliant email marketing solution (all the good ones) is going to make those email addresses you've just obtained re-optin, so I'd expect you to lose quite a bit of the subscribers now.

Google Groups allows importing in of email addresses, but you run in to issues of those people did not optin to that group, and you could end up getting in to trouble for those kind of things.

Yeah, MailChimp & Aweber are both to expensive for my budget (for the newsletter). Well you can just make another user administrator which I thought he would do, but he removed the group -- don't know why though.. :(

I use this one.

Download the FREE Autoresponder Plugin for Wordpress.

One time cost for the PRO (which you will need) and you can use yahoo or gmail webserver to send out emails so you wont be limited by your host.

You can also import your list with this really easy. When you do you will have the option to send an optin message or not also.

Cool, I never heard of that plug-in thanks Aaron. Also I know of another newsletter program, you can check it out at: e-Newsletter program. I don't know if that's in your budget though.

Because it's not free. It's a commercial script -- unless you're a good contributor here at NB. :)
