    How to Backup Squidoo Lens

    How to Backup Squidoo Lens

You need to backup your squidoo lenses so that you don't risk the lost of your valuable work. Here is a few ways that you can back-up:

    1) Copy the modules to a word file - the drawback here it that it is rather time consuming

    2) Export the lenses to an xml file and save to your computer

Unfortunately there isn't a way that I know of to automatically restore you squidoo lenses back-up.

Backing up the content of your Squidoo lens is important these days as Squidoo is becoming more and more strict on its quality guidelines and lenses are getting locked if they smell anything spammy.

I'm not really crazy for squidoo anymore. It gave some real nice results as well quick indexing once. But now it take a life to get them indexed and some of even perfect lenses are never indexed no matter what you do.
    SEO girl...

Yeah, InfoBarrel and Hubpages seem to do much better at getting a site indexed as well as paying residual income lately.

I've been hearing a lot about this too from my buddies. I've used HubPages a few times in the past but never really messed with Squidoo, I just never got any value out of it. It must have been overridden with spam links and now it's lost all integrity

Squidoo was spammed out but it is coming back. HubPages doesn't give you a dofollow link unless you have a high quality score.

  7. Good thing I read this post. Never thought of backing up squidoo lenses before.

Actually I have several squidoo lenses (backlink purpose of course) and they do quite well, I get traffic from them too.

I guess it's only natural for squidoo admins to tighten up their rules because in the end we'll enjoy the benefits IMHO

Edit your lens and click on the "export the lens" on the bottom of the right side screen. This will save the XML file that describe your lens. I recommend creating a folder such as \Squidoo_backup\ and place the file there. Next, go to view your lens and from your browser, click on File on the menu bar. Next click on Save Page As... and make sure you choose the option to save Web Page Complete. Specify the same folder as before. This will save a HTML file of your lens and create a sub-folder containing all the objects on your lens (such as images and video and audio. That's all there is to it. You have just created a full backup of your lens. From these files you will be able to recreate your lens in case you accidentally delete it.

  10. too bad two of my squidoo lense was already locked they're getting strict really.
