Thread: MODx CMS

Hybrid View

  1. MODx CMS

Today I was playing a little bit with the MODx CMS, and I found it really cool and easy to use, but is very limited, compared to Joomla, WordPress and Drupal. Usually I use these 3, but don't hurt if I learn something new.

So I just wanted to ask if someone is already using MODx and for what kind of websites it's recommended this CMS.

I was able to create only static pages, use the apache mod_rewrite and create a custom template.

  2. I looked into it a bit, but I decided to stick with CMS's which were much more mature and had a significantly larger number of extensions

Will, you could do on-page SEO and change Joomla coded CSS. Example: H1 instead of contentpagetitle etc...
BTW: Site in my signature is driven by Joomla too

I tried ModX when I looked into buiding my first site... But I couldn't get it to work properly with GoDaddy. There are some known issues w/ Modx and GoDaddy hosting. So I tried WordPress instead, and have never looked back.

Never tried it, but if I was to use something outside of 100% custom, I'd probably use Wordpress anyway.
