Bear in mind that (at least some people say that) Google and the other search engines will look at a webserver's location when sorting out the search results. For example, if someone searches google.co.uk for something, then webpages residing on servers located in the U.K. may have a better chance of appearing in the top results... even when the searcher hasn't got "pages from the UK" ticked.

So, are you targeting a British audience or a worldwide audience? If it's the latter, an American webserver might actually be the best option.

From what little I have seen, Google has used the WHOIS records to determine server "location", not the IP address.

P.S. Where are you in .nl? I used to live in Helmond and Eindhoven.
