Yeah I guess it is really that simple. It probably takes some time to build up the traffic.
Definitely. Well, unless you use PPC.

I the beginning, I did everything myself - even directory submissions. I kept that up until revenue was over $10k/mo.
That was stupid. That was a horribly bad way to allocate my time.
But, I was in a weird mood at the time and it was what I wanted to do.

Firstly congrats to those who have managed to find the niches that have paid out for you. I had figured with the length of time I have been trying I would be making more by now but I am decreasing instead of increasing.
I Have simple needs wish I could clear 3-5k of semi passive income from the web. 50k to me is a dream like hitting the lotto.
Figure you guys post enough info I may get to the 3k mark one day.

The key for you, I think, is a variation of the old "multiple income streams" theory.
You're good at building things and you're good at promoting them. The multiple income streams theory says that if you just do that iteratively you will eventually reach your goal.
Except that you have to add in another factor. We're all human, so we can only manage so many projects concurrently. So, you need to focus on building projects that you can eventually turn into passive income. This can be by hiring or subcontracting someone to run them, by automating their operations, or by choosing to build projects which won't require much maintenance.
I've received a lot of requests lately. I'm going to do my best to respond to all public questions -- but I am going to have to let private conversations slide for a bit.
Plus, I have some projects of my own that I would really like to push forward this year.
It really is that simple -- build content and promote it.
Of course, every day I learn more about how to do those things better.
At least three of us have responded to this thread already.
Oh no, I'm with a bunch of millionaires in here !!

Not quite the same. You can always learn something on forums.
It's the sort of thing I enjoy, I'd eventaully get sick of buying flight tickets to the Bahamas -- it'd get boring after a while. Fourms... Ya can always return and there's always something new to learn about.
Hahaha.... yeah I just realised it was the wrong quote!! (LMAO)
I guess it was just wishful thinking....

I am not so sure what I was gonna ask either now
I think what I meant was, how many sites did you start up with and was your income in the beginning from Adsense only?

Posts like this is what I expect to read in this thread... something more 'wisdom' from somebody who has gone that road and are generous enough to share.
All the rest of the forum and threads here are also great... but it is more specifically technical. Thanks so much for this one Will!
