Adbrite Shut down Feb 1, 2013

I'm only running Adbrite on a couple of sites and I've been wondering why I've been receiving error messages instead of ads. It turns out that Adbrite has shut down.

    Dear adBrite Advertiser,

Over the last few weeks, adBrite and its management have been evaluating the go-forward plan for the business. Given market conditions and certain financial liabilities, in working with our lenders, we have decided to cease operations on Feb 1, 2013.

This is a difficult decision for all of us at adBrite. However, after much deliberation this seems to be the best course of action despite the impact it will have on all the employees, clients and partners who helped build this business. There will be a team in place as needed to assist with winding down your campaign, and final reporting and invoicing.

Thank you for being part of the adBrite community.

    The adBrite Team

Well, I knew about this a few weeks back.
They sent out emails to most of their clients.

    Funny thing though....
On other forums, when people ask for adsense alternatives?
People are STILL posting stuff like "adbrite is the best", I only use adbrite, use adbrite, blah blah blah....
Like these people have no damn clue, they do not obviously go to the adbrite site, etc.

So what is currently the next best alternative to AdWords? I would love to be able to dump everything related to Google.

Last I heard ad-brite was the one everyone went to if they were running a porn site or ineligible for adsense. No idea what the new alternative's gonna be. Whether you like or hate google, adsense is the direction most go if they have an opportunity and cannot or will not sell ads directly.

Big difference in wanting an ad service for anything under the sun, and then for porn.

I saw on another forum where someone said google is a scam because they let you get in and put adsense on your site, then they ban you.
Took a bit, but finally it was admitted he changed his site from a regular blog to a porn site.

I am doing okay on my blogs with infolinks.
Tried chitika for a bit, but the only ads they kept serving on my blogs were ads for blog services, etc.
    Geesh.

Here's a list of alternatives for Adult Ads (Traffic Junky is one of the best):
    Juicy Ads
    Ad XPansion
    Exo Click
    Ero Advertising
    Plug Rush
    Traffic Junky

I would make sure that you have a contact page so that Ad brokers can contact you to pay to advertise on your site in the case where you can't use cracksense. But I never followed up with them so far, so I don't know what rates they pay. Maybe it would be per impression (PPV model)? I tried info links, but was unhappy with the way it injected links even into the heading text, and the pay was abysmal.

You didn't list Adult Friend Finder, is that because it doesn't perform?

Adult Friend Finder is an affiliate program.

trafficjunky.net is a cheap site for running Ads as well. The minimum payment accepted via PayPal is $25.00 USD. They work on an impression basis, so you will need to have some good banner ads. Non-Adult sites usually don't well, but some niches like virus removal do perform.
